While I had been to a couple of Italian ski resorts in the Alps before, this was my first trip to "real" Italy. Its main destination was Salvatore Avagliano's famous holiday center at the beach resort San Felice Circeo, some 100 kms south of Rome. Going there by car enabled me to visit people and places en route, which I did with great pleasure.
